Polka Dots & Daises

{Interview With Mollie}

Q: Why did you decide to start selling and creating invitations & announcements?
A: When I was getting married I couldn't find any invitations I liked! I wanted my invitations to coordinate with my wedding colors & style and also wanted an invitation that felt like it captured my personality (and my husband's of course :) so I decided to make my own. I had been in the printing/design industry for a few years at that point so I decided to apply what I knew to make our wedding invitation. It turned out that people really liked the invitations and asked where we had gotten them done, then someone asked why I didn't make a career of it and I couldn't think of any reason not to!

Q: Tell me more about how your business works?
A: Our goal is to create any invitation a bride can dream up! We have access to hundreds of paper/envelope options and can create personalized graphics & designs. We help our brides realize that anything really is possible when it comes to custom invitations. We start off with a complimentary consultation where our clients tell us about their wedding vision and how they'd like their invitation to look, we go through different paper options, invitation styles and color swatches to create the ideal wedding invitation ensemble. Since it is important that all aspects of a wedding coordinate and work together we also provide "invitation accessories" as we like to call them. We do rsvp cards, inserts, envelope labels/seals, thank you cards, wedding programs, favors, bridesmaid gifts and even sign-in books- all custom made for each couple!

Q: Do you only create invites just for people in Utah or can you create for anyone in the US?
A: We work with clients from all over the country! For our out-of-state couples we coordinate by phone or through e-mail and we send out sample packs so they can see our products in person. We send proofs of the designs electronically so the process works very well no matter where our clients are located!

Q: Where do you get your inspirations for your designs?
A: It is funny because I find inspiration in almost everything around me... I even dream in invitations! A lot of my ideas come from nature and food- which sounds kinda silly, but there are some great color schemes in things like ice cream sundaes!

Q: What is your favorite design so far?
A: Probably a few of the ones I am working on right now. Since we've expanded our selections to include pocket cards and many fun enclosure type cards I think that those are going to be some of my absolute favorites! It's just so fun to work with the different colors, layers and textures of those types of papers!

Congratulations to our winner of the $40 gift card to Sarah Jane Studios- Patricia S. I know you will just love these prints as much as I do.
Thanks to for helping pick out winner!
