Books to Read * Un Brella

It always happens this time of year. A new snowfall prolongs the onset of spring and all the wonders that warm weather brings. In this delightful, wordless picture book, author Scott Franson gives us a hopeful alternate in his main character—a girl who carries an “Un-brella.” Her un-brella undoes the winter snow, turning her world into a delightful play land of green grass, flowers, turtles and butterflies. The concept, story, and pictures are delightful and will cheer you on the bleakest of winter days.
“Un Brella” is just one book up for a Beehive Book Awards. Check out all the great nominations. Beehive Book Awards are sponsored by the Children’s Literature Association of Utah, for more books for kids and to join, visit their website.

Thank you for the nice review. I am always happy to hear that the book is being enjoyed. It was a labor of love to produce. If you get a chance to read the book, see if you can find a rabbit, cat, penguin, turtle, snake, butterfly, lady bugs, dragonflies, frogs, fish, caterpillars, and birds. Thank you again. Scott E. Franson
