'Tis the time for harvesting! Utah offers a variety of places to take the family and pick some yummy crops. Corn, berries, pumpkins, eggplants...the list goes on and on. Here are some of our favorite spots:

Day Farms - Asparagus, beans, eggplant, peppers, pumpkins, strawberries, tomatoes, honey from hives on the farm

Phone: 801-546-4316

Maple Mountain Greenhouse and Strawberry Farms - strawberries
1550 West 2600 South (Hwy 89), Mapleton, UT 84664

McBride Briar Patch - blackberries, raspberries,

Phelps Berry Farm - blackberries, cherries, raspberries , walnuts
8722 South 6200 West, Payson, UT 84651

And our personal favorite....

Farnsworth Farms & Cider Mill - apples, eggplant, pears, peaches, peppers, plums, tomatoes, Cider mill (fresh apple cider made on the premises)
11228 South 700 East, Sandy, UT 84070
Phone: 801-571-0858

Before moving to Utah I lived in Boston right next to a farm where they made apple cider, and the apple cider available at Farnsworth Farms is just as good! They also have fun and inexpensive fall festivals, movie nights and Halloween Parties.

Why take your family harvesting? It develops their healthy relationship with food, lets them know where it comes from, how it grows, how it is handled and how you cook it. Looking to have healthy eaters? Involve them in every aspect of food: growing in, harvesting it, cooking it and serving it to those you love.

Such cute pictures! Great idea to take the kids "harvesting!" We're fortunate, living in Utah, to have so many places to go to see how things grow. I know where you can go to get popcorn on the cob...Grammy's, in Perry, Utah. Good place. Lots of good things to eat.

I am happy to know there is somewhere closer than Brigham City that I can get peaches. Thanks for the info.

We love the Paradise Orchard. It is where we get our apples and pumpkins every year. Such a great farm, if you're in Cache Valley, you should give it a go.

This sounds like lots of fun for the fall... or even now. I can't wait.
